Materials

Phenolic

Phenolic is a composite panel made from kraft paper saturated with phenol-formaldehyde resin. It is one of the most impact-resistant and moisture-resistant locker materials available. The finish is industrial in character – chosen for environments where durability and sanitation are the primary requirements.

The material does not age or develop character. It performs consistently from installation through its service life.

Appearance

Available primarily in neutral tones: grey, tan, and black. The surface is dense and matte with no grain or texture variation. It reads as institutional. Scratches and surface damage blend with surrounding areas rather than creating contrast, which suits high-traffic environments where cosmetic wear is expected.

Phenolic is not a finish chosen for visual appeal. In a locker room where player experience and facility perception are priorities, it is the wrong choice. In a public recreation centre, equipment room, or any facility prioritizing maximum longevity over everything else, it is the right one.

Specifications

Available in standard colours across PROlocker locker configurations. Phenolic is commonly used in wet areas, equipment rooms, and high-abuse public spaces within facilities that otherwise specify wood finishes for primary locker rooms.
