Brock University Hockey Locker Room
Case Study
Brock University Hockey Locker Room
Custom Hockey and Basketball Locker Rooms
Four varsity programs at Brock University share locker room infrastructure: women's and men's hockey, women's and men's basketball. When the university renovated these facilities in 2016, the brief was to design a single locker solution that served athletes whose equipment requirements have almost nothing in common.
PROlocker supplied a combo custom locker engineered for exactly that.
Project Overview
- Women’s and men’s hockey and basketball locker rooms
- Combo custom locker configuration serving multiple sports
- Integrated media cabinet with whiteboard storage
- Completed 2016, Brock University

The Challenge
Hockey and basketball athletes share a building but arrive with fundamentally different gear. A hockey player needs storage for pads, a helmet, skates, and wet equipment that has to ventilate between uses. A basketball player needs hanging space, footwear storage, and secure compartments for personal items. A locker built for one doesn’t serve the other.
With four programs using the same infrastructure, a sport-specific solution wasn’t available. The locker had to work across both.
The Solution
The combo custom locker was designed to accommodate the storage requirements of hockey and basketball within a single unit.
The installation also included a media cabinet with integrated whiteboard storage, building coaching infrastructure directly into the locker room.

Results
The completed installation serves four programs without requiring separate locker configurations for each sport. The combo locker approach gives each program locker room infrastructure that functions at the level their athletes need, without duplicating the build across sports.
